Takuto Ogawa, Representative Director and CEO of MAISEND Inc., produced a recruitment PR video for the Kofu City Volunteer Fire Corps, aimed at attracting younger members.
Background
According to the Kofu Area Fire Department, the number of volunteer fire corps members has declined steadily from a peak of 1,249 in April 2018 to 1,033 as of April 2023, a drop of roughly 20%. Of those, members under 40 numbered just 272, less than half the figure from a decade earlier. In response, the Kofu City Volunteer Fire Corps commissioned Ogawa, who runs a video production company while attending the University of Yamanashi, to produce a video communicating the appeal and rewards of volunteer firefighting to people in their 20s.
Unveiling
The completed PR video was unveiled at an event held at Kofu City Hall on February 9, 2024.
